PM Modi in Odisha Today, to Launch Projects Worth Over ₹60,000 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Jharsuguda, Odisha today, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹60,000 crore.

PM's Odisha Visit:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Jharsuguda, Odisha today, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹60,000 crore. These projects span key sectors such as telecommunications, railways, education, healthcare, skill development, and rural housing. During his visit, the Prime Minister will also address a public meeting.

A Major Step in Digital Connectivity

To strengthen the Digital India vision, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation over 97,500 4G mobile towers, built at a cost of approximately ₹37,000 crore. Over 92,600 of these sites will be operated by BSNL. More than 18,900 towers built under Digital India Fund will connect more than 26,000 remote and border villages in the country. About 20 lakh new consumers will get service from them. The special thing is that these towers will run with solar energy, which will make it the largest green telecom network in the country.

New Facilities in Railways

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation of several projects in the railway area. These include the Sambalpur-Sarla rail flyover, the doubling of the Koraput-Baguda line, and the development of the Manbar-Koraput-Gorpur section. These projects will intensify goods and passenger traffic, as well as boost local industry and trade. PM Modi will also flag off the new Amrit Bharat Express between Brahmapur and Udhna (Surat). This train will open new tourism and employment opportunities with an affordable and comfortable journey.

Major Investment in the Education Sector

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the expansion of eight IITs: Palakkad, Bhilai, Jammu, Dharwad, Jodhpur, Patna, and Indore. It will cost around Rs 11,000 crore so that 10,000 new students will get space in the next four years. Eight new research parks will also be established. On this occasion, Modi will launch the MERITE scheme, which aims to improve the quality of education and research in 275 engineering and polytechnic institutes.

To strengthen skill development, the second phase of the Odisha Skill Development Project will be launched. Under this, World Skill Centers will be set up in Sambalpur and Barhampur, and 30 ITIs will be converted into excellence centers. Apart from this, free Wi-Fi facilities will be provided in 130 higher education institutions of the state, which will benefit more than 2.5 lakh students daily.

Expansion of Health Services

Several new schemes will also be announced in the health sector. MKCG Medical College in Barhampur and VIMSAR of Sambalpur will be upgraded to super-specialty hospitals. Bed capacity will be increased in these institutions, and trauma centers, maternal and child care units, dental colleges, and modern educational structures will be prepared.

Pucca Houses for Weaker Sections

The Pradhan Mantri Antyodaya will also submit acceptance orders to 50,000 beneficiaries under Antyodaya Griha Yojana. Through this scheme, pavement, widows, people struggling with serious diseases, and poor families affected by natural disasters will be given firm houses and financial assistance.

This tour will not only give a new direction to the infrastructure of Odisha but will also show the priority of the government of social welfare and inclusive development.
